Community Activities
On 8th May, to mark VE Day, Funeral Arranger Jacqui Williams, hosted a lovely Coffee and Cake event at Dawe Brothers, Holme Lacy Road — and what a fantastic day it was!
Jacqui welcomed around 50–60 visitors throughout the day, including a few local ministers and the Verger from St Martin’s Church, who kindly popped in to show their support. The event raised a wonderful £64.00.
In true community spirit, the VE Day decorations — including flags, balloons, and bunting — haven’t gone to waste. They’ve been passed on to St Martin’s Church to be used at their own event. That’s two community celebrations supported in one – a great way to share resources and keep the spirit of remembrance alive.
